Gardening during the main growing season can provide much enjoyment and produce. However, opportunities exist to expand the season in which vegetable plants can be grown and harvested. This publication introduces the main concepts in using season extension methods including the capture of heat in sunlight to alter temperatures and stretch the gardening season. There are many methods and options to extend seasons in Tennessee gardens and several are detailed according to their role in the home garden.
