Tree fruits are often the goal of many gardeners. While more difficult than small fruits, they can be very rewarding in the Tennessee backyard or small orchard. This publication will help explain key differences in the two most common crops- apples and pears with a focus on disease resistance. It will also introduce different cultivars and support gardeners in selecting the best types for their needs with a focus on smaller scale plantings.
